{"componentChunkName":"component---src-templates-blogs-js","path":"/blog/college-music/","result":{"data":{"site":{"siteMetadata":{"title":"Serith","description":"Don't ask, I can't remeber why"}},"contentfulPosts":{"id":"ad2f6711-8052-5a29-b679-7387c57e6e73","title":"College Music","body":{"childMarkdownRemark":{"html":"<p><img src=\"//images.ctfassets.net/uvlx0f9w0mlv/43NW58zlbDA3D2VhDgzKnN/913bc302f788f4690a0480e59e2a47a5/college-music.jpg\" alt=\"college-music\"></p>\n<p>Today I remembered a band <a href=\"//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lit_(band)\">Lit</a> that I first heard when I was in college between 2000-2002, and this inspired me to take a trip down memory lane.</p>\n<p>Back then I didn’t really own many CDs (I was still using <a href=\"//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_Cassette\">cassette tapes</a>).</p>\n<p>It was during this time that I started to fine-tune my music tastes, preferring Rock, Metal and Punk over the Pop and Dance music I favoured during my secondary school years.</p>\n<p>The group of people that I was socialising with at college had different tastes to the group of friends I had grown up with. My college friends were always happy to share their CDs and introduce me to new/old bands I had never heard of.</p>\n<p>I remember spending most of my time and money in shops like <a href=\"//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMV\">HMV</a> and <a href=\"//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_and_Video_Club\">MVC</a>, both went into administration, however HMV managed to claw its way out.</p>\n<p><strong>Some of the albums I remember owning during my college years:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aerosmith - <em>O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits</em></li>\n<li>Bif Naked - <em>Purge</em></li>\n<li>Blink 182 - <em>Enema Of The State</em></li>\n<li>Blink 182 - <em>Take Of Your Shirt And Pants</em></li>\n<li>Guns N’ Roses - <em>Greatest Hits</em></li>\n<li>Linkin Park  - <em>Hybrid Theory</em></li>\n<li>Lit - <em>A Place In The Sun</em></li>\n<li>Lit - <em>Atomic</em></li>\n<li>Marilyn Manson - <em>A Portrait Of An American Family</em></li>\n<li>Marilyn Manson - <em>Holy Wood</em></li>\n<li>Muse - <em>Origin Of Symmetry</em></li>\n<li>Muse - <em>Showbiz</em></li>\n<li>Queen - <em>Greatest Hits I, II &#x26; III</em></li>\n<li>Sum 41 - <em>All Killer, No Filler</em></li>\n<li><em>Mission Impossible II OST</em></li>\n<li><em>The Martix OST</em></li>\n</ul>\n<p>I never did build up an impressive CD collection.
